“Colour Me Calm” is designed to fuse the therapeutic benefits of art, colour, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques in a relaxed, creative setting.

The philosophy:
-
Mindful creativity: The act of painting or working with colour can be meditative, slowing the mind and helping one to be present in the moment.
-
Symbolic expression: Through choosing colours, words, patterns, participants externalise parts of their internal narrative — hopes, emotions, affirmations.
-
NLP principles: NLP invites reflection on one’s internal language, patterns, and mental framing. In Colour Me Calm, prompts or guided questions may encourage participants to explore how language, metaphor, and imagery shape their emotional state.
-
Community and connection: Doing this in a group environment offers gentle support, shared energy, and the possibility to witness others’ creative journeys.
What to Expect in a Session
-
Warm welcome & orientation: Brief introductions, grounding exercise or guided reflection to set intention.
-
Materials & guidance: Pottery pieces (e.g. mugs, small items) or canvases, plus paints, brushes, stencils, and colour palettes. The Colour My Pot team offers technical and creative support.
-
Creative time: Participants paint and decorate their items — often incorporating words, symbols, or affirmations.
-
Integration & share: A short closing reflection or share circle, where participants may talk about what colours or designs meant to them, or how the process felt.
-
Take home the piece: After glazing and firing, the created object becomes a keepsake — a tangible reminder of one’s journey of calm.
